Grow:

Grow可以用来讨论很多事情，如植物、动物、头发、人、城市、队伍、销售、或一个国家的人口等等，形容长大、长高、变长或体积或规模或数量增加。

e.g.

1.The plantsgrow./We’regrowingplants. (bigger, taller)

植物长大了/我们种植植物。

2.Our hairgrow./We’regrowingour hair. (longer)

头发长长了/我们留头发。

3.The saleshave grown20% in the first quarter. (increase in number)

第一季度的销售额提高了20%。

★Growis both transitive and intransitive. It can be used with an object or without an object.

Grow可以作及物动词或不及物动词，可接宾语或单独使用。

Grow up:

◆We only usegrow upto talk about a child developing into an adult

grow up 只能用来形容小孩长大成人。

e.g.

1.Where did yougrow up? Igrew upin Beijing.

你在哪里长大的？我在北京长大的。

2.When Igrow up, I want to be a teacher.

长大后，我想成为一名教师。

3.Grow up doing sth= spend your childhood doing sth

从小开始一直做某事

Igrew up dancing.

我从小开始跳舞。

★Grow up is always intransitive, there is no object following it.

Grow up是不及物动词，不接宾语。
